Talo Guide

Cloud folders

Link synced folders on your Mac, download only what you choose, and publish deliverables with confirmation.

Talo works with local folders created by sync apps for Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, Box, or iCloud Drive on your Mac. It doesn't sign in directly to those services or replace their app. Access permissions and who can see a file still depend on the provider and the shared folder.

  1. In a project, open "Add folder" and choose "Cloud folder…".
  2. Select a folder from the provider installed on your Mac and review the macOS permission

if it appears.

  1. Open "Linked folder". Talo tells apart what's on your Mac, what's only in the cloud,

detected conflicts, and items without permission. It also shows the folder's memory policy.

The initial policy indexes the local content. Files that the provider keeps online only appear without Talo downloading them on its own. If you need their content, select "Download and index", check the size shown, and confirm. You can cancel the job. Shortcuts to native Google Docs don't equal the content of those documents.

Work and publish

Prepare the deliverable in the project's work folder. When it's reviewed, use "Publish" to choose the file and the destination in the shared folder. Talo shows a native confirmation with the destination; "Cancel" is the default option. If a name already exists, it creates a numbered copy instead of replacing it. Publishing copies that file, not the memory or project conversations.

Linked folders are treated as read-only for the agent's work; publishing is a separate action by the person. This control was tested with simulated folders. The beta still needs an end-to-end test with a real Google Drive or OneDrive account and someone else seeing the published file. Until then, verify the destination and sync in the provider's app before marking a delivery as done.

If a file shows "No permission", check the macOS and provider permissions. If there's a conflicting copy, resolve it in the sync client before publishing. To learn what reaches the assistant, see Privacy and security.
